No Kings, Just Crew — A Speculative Protest Campaign
After seeing news coverage of the One Piece flag in Indonesian youth protests, I was struck by how fandom and political resistance were merging. As a designer and anime fan, I created a social-first campaign exploring how the Straw Hat Jolly Roger is being reframed as a symbol of activism.
This project includes an informative carousel, animated video script, and emotionally charged social posts—designed in line with Amnesty International’s brand guidelines and linking back to their coverage.
It showcases skills in
strategic storytelling,
platform-specific design
rapid-response content creation (just a few hours turnaround in Illustrator and Canva).
A pirate flag becomes a call to action—for the youth in these images, and for Amnesty to amplify and support their voices.
